Mendocino Farms, the California-born fast-casual known for turning sandwiches, salads and more into an unexpected culinary adventure, is opening its doors to serve the Seattle community for the first time in South Lake Union (2118 Westlake Ave.) on Wednesday, May 17.  

The South Lake Union restaurant will be the first Mendocino Farms location in Washington, opening due to requests from the brand’s fan base. Mendocino Farms aims to be Seattleites’ happy place, encouraging locals to discover new favorite dishes crafted from fresh, seasonal ingredients.  

“With an active community and culture that thrives on wellbeing, Seattle already feels like our home,” said Kevin Miles, CEO of Mendocino Farms. “Residents have not been shy in voicing they want us to open here, so it’s exciting to serve this community that shares our love for adventurous food. At our core, we’re a restaurant dedicated to making our guests feel great, and we hope to be Seattleites’ everyday fuel of choice.”

🐮 Experience “Eat Happy”: For Seattleites wanting a taste of Mendocino Farms and its signature hospitality, the restaurant is bringing to life its mission of making hearts and stomachs happy by: 

  • Offering a free entrée when guests create a My Mendoaccount and select “Seattle-South Lake Union” as their favorite location prior to opening day. 
  • Delivering flavors that fuel via a food truck at a rotation of spots including Westlake Park, Mayor Harrell’s “One Seattle Day of Service” at Denny Park and more! Be on the lookout for this Mendo-branded vehicle handing out samples of fan-favorite fare around town starting May 15. 
  • Gifting the first 100 grand opening day attendees a custom Seattle tote bag filled with goodies from local favorites Monorail Espresso, restaurateur Tom Douglas and Hello Robin Cookies.  
  • Hosting a free “Happy Place Block Party” in Urban Triangle Park on May 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Designed to spark joy, the event will feature complimentary Spicy Curried Couscous, music from local DJ Carlos Valencia, limited-edition swag, adorable puppies available for adoption from Emerald City Pet Rescue and more. Monorail Espresso will join the celebration, serving free samples from their signature Espresso Cart.  

Dedicated to strengthening the communities it serves, Mendocino Farms is donating 50% of opening day proceeds to Mary’s Place to ensure that no child sleeps outside.

Hot Honey Peach and Prosciutto Sandwich: Bringing the summer heat with Italian prosciutto, peaches, fresh mozzarella and hot honey, the new sandwich will land on the menu as soon as peak peach season arrives. 

 

🍴How to “Eat Happy”: Mendocino Farms South Lake Union will be open for dine-in, pick-up or delivery daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Guests can place an order online, through the Mendocino Farms website or App, or via UberEats, DoorDash and Postmates. Catering orders can be placed online or by calling the restaurant and speaking with the dedicated catering team. 

More Mendocino Farms locations are coming soon to Seattle, with the next opening later this year at Rainier Square in Downtown Seattle.
